Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC)

The Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) consists of members interested in the quality of education received by children and youth with special needs. The committee includes parents of individuals with disabilities, educators, administrators and representatives from a variety of related agencies. SEAC’s purpose is to educate members and families on special education topics and inform members of proposed legislation concerning special education.

What We Do:

  • Equip parents and caregivers with the tools to support their child build relationships and connections through shared experiences.
  • Connect families to the appropriate supports within the district and community.

Why it Matters:

  • SEAC works to close the opportunity gap for students with special needs.
  • SEAC works to ensure families and students receive academic, social, emotional and physical supports.
  • SEAC works to create an opportunity for families to have a voice in the special education community.
